Oh, the shame of it!

A summons! Yes, a summons arrived this morning - caught by a speed camera on the one bit of a 200 mile journey when I forgot to watch the speed limit. How embarrassing. But even worse, I am going to have to plead not guilty, which might mean an enforced visit to the Midlands to argue my case. Not that I didn't speed - I did, and was caught fair and square. But they're saying they contacted me in October and I didn't reply, so they're going for refusing to provide information. I never had the letter - how do you prove you didn't get a letter?

I had a nice long bath with my book this morning to relax and forget about it. Bad move - I put the fifth bath bomb in. I ask you, who in their right mind could happily get into a bath containing SEAWEED??? It's revolting! I have to admit it was rather lovely lounging in the bath, as long as I didn't look in the water, but now I'm left with an empty bath to clean, covered with greeny-black spider-leg-look-alikes (the bath, not me... although actually...) Bleugh! Thank goodness I've only got one left to go. What on earth will this one have in it?

Meanwhile Smudgelet has been simultaneously smartened up and scruffified. A morning spent with my dad has had him going to the barbers, cleaning his shoes with proper shoe polish, and cleaning the car - obviously with his t-shirt.

Now, where did I put my driving license? That was NOT how I intended to spend this beautiful morning, no indeed. Botheration.

Oh, and James... brilliant idea about the doorbell.
