My driving license was exactly where I put it. Wonders never cease! I had taken it out of its usual home as I'd needed ID to help the boys open a bank account, so I had put it away with the new bank books. I really must sort out some sort of system that's a little less random, I really must.

The Smudgelets swam well this morning, as I sat there trying to avoid the temptation to go back to sleep. I hate getting up early on a Sunday! Still, at least we made it to church in time for me to practise the hymns. I was somewhat surprised to be informed by one of the older men in the congregation that he got interference on his hearing aid from my accordion. A quick survey of the other hearing aid wearers reassured me that he was a bit of an anomoly. We agreed that maybe it was because he sat too close to where I was playing, which prompted me to suggest I go down to the sea front to play!

A quick lunch, though not quick enough for the Smudgelets who get impatient with the time taken for Grandad to eat his meal and get ready to go out. We're all quite excited - we're going to a grand open day at the bus museum. We've been intending to visit there for ages, but today there's the chance to go for a ride round the Island on a vintage bus. Must remember to wear padded trousers... from what I remember from our last such ride, the suspension in the buses isn't all it might be! Another sign of impending teenagerdom from Tiddles - "I don't know that I really want to be bothered going" - very unusual for him. I was quite disappointed.... but when we saw one of the vintage buses go sailing past on the main road, full of excited passengers, he promptly changed his mind. "I know I said I didn't want to go, but that was before I actually thought about it" I hope he doesn't turn into a teenager tooo soon.

We're making a list of what we want to do while we're in London next weekend. I think we may need to stay a month!
