Hmm... we were only out for an hour...
We bought a photo album for our London photos which turns out to be too small for the pictures.
We got our photos developed and discovered that Tiddles' camera had not told him it had run out of film, and none of his London photos had come out...... (We won't mention how brilliant the rest of his photos are and how they're better than mine, OK?)
We bought a frame for Tiddles' Monet picture which turns out to be two centimetres too small for the painting.
We went to the shop where they sell Scout Uniforms to get Tiddles his, (and surreptitiously to pop upstairs to the bit where they sell scooters to order Smudgelet's birthday present in secret while he's ogling the lego downstairs) only to discover the shop was shut for the Bank Holiday.
We went to a restaurant for lunch - the first time we've been there in two years - and narrowly averted sitting down to have our meal at the next table to one of the birth families. This would have been a nightmare beyond description. I don't think the child noticed. Thank goodness the restaurant had just run out of the food the kids wanted and I was able to suggest we went for a grumpy meal instead. Not that there were any seats at McD's, of course, but I was just relieved to have averted a major emotional disaster. Still feel a little shaken, mind.
I'm going to hide under the sofa now and look forward to the relative sanity of tomorrow!
