No, not the fluffy sort which squeak at you. Well, actually, I would rather like one of those too, as well as a little grey rabbit, but they do take rather a lot of looking after. No, I want the volunteer sort who take no looking after whatsoever but are willing to be experimented on. Form an orderly queue here. Yes, my massage course (NVQ Level 3) has begun.

You might at the moment be left feeling a bit short-changed, by the way, seeing as I have only had one proper session so far, and most of that was spent having a tour of the library and paying my fees and learning finger exercises to keep my hands supple. So I am afraid that so far I have only learned how to massage the front of the thigh. (My, just imagining what google searches will bring people to my wiblog today!)

Embarrassing but true, I'm definitely going to have to step the diet up a notch now - my uniform jacket doesn't quite fit. I can get in it, but it'd be like massaging someone while set in plaster from the hips upward. I'll just have to break this addiction to Slimfast Snack Bars.

School went really well this morning. I have half won the battle over my Year Six group where I was expected to take all the children who would not get Level 4 in their SATs. As it is, I have just gained another five pupils in that group, and from the work they did this morning, they're probably not much more able than my little oddbods. They certainly need sitting on just as much - although so far they seem quite sweet. And I've definitely spotted some of the ones I'm going to be having in my Year five group amongst our newcomers. I think I may once again be using the Year 2 scheme of work to cater for them... especially one lovely little lad who's functioning like a four-year-old and is clearly going to need a lot of TLC and patience. Hmmm.. now where did I put my supply of TLC and patience? Will I have enough to last me until Christmas?

The Smudgelets are delighted with their new classes and were full of stories of how wonderful school is this evening. I wonder how long it will last. I heard both of them read - I wonder how long THAT will last, too - and Tiddles worked industriously on his first spellings in his neatest imaginable handwriting. Smudgelet's PE kit is safely at the childminders, seeing as he managed to loosen the lid on his waterbottle while checking I'd closed it properly and the whole thing emptied itself in his PE bag. Now that is more par for the course!

Right, seeing as my thighs are wonderfully relaxed after their massage, and the boys are safely tucked in at Grandad's house for a sleepover, I think I may retire to bed with a book. Goodnight :)
