Hmm.. you think me too cowardly to incorporate "Talk Like A Pirate Day" into the service this morning? Well, I did wonder whether I dared do the pirate version of the Lord's Prayer. I was dithering a little as to whether people might find it rather inappropriate but, when I walked into a little museum shop to wait for my eldest finishing at Young Archaeologists, I discovered they were selling pirate hats for 99p each! So yes, I wore my hat and read the Pirate's Lord's Prayer before doing the more usual version - talking about needing to think about the words we were saying instead of saying them by rote and if that was what the Lord's Prayer means to a pirate, what does it mean to us? I didn't have a parrot, though - but did indulge in buying a Jolly Roger flag for the boys and a hat each, and they displayed them from the car window on the way home and in B&Q!

Did I mention my crazy morning yesterday, by the way? Look at a map of the Island. I had to deliver Smudgelet to Blackgang Chine for 10am. I had to deliver Tiddles to Yarmouth (Fort Victoria) for 10am. Both boys had to be at the Music Centre in Newport for 10am. I was meeting my friend for coffee in Yarmouth at 11.30. I was making lunch for Dad at home at 1.00pm. I had to pick Tiddles up from Yarmouth at 2.30pm and then pick Smudgelet up from Blackgang Chine at 5pm. Oh, and fit in a trip to school in Ryde to collect something I'd forgotten! It was, of course, also pouring with rain. To think, if my invitation had arrived in time, I could have been safely at Tigglet and Wairua's wedding instead!
