Well, the early start didn't quite work: I didn't wake until 8.30! But I woke raring to go.
Thus far I have done three loads of washing and put two in the tumble drier.
I have cleared (by foot) the floor in the boys' room and fumigated in there enough to create a place for putting things I simply want out of the way while I sort - i.e. the Christmas decoration boxes and all the duvets (the covers of which are all in the wash!)
I have put some rubbish out.
I have moved the organ (anyone want a large electric organ free of charge? Buyer collects?) out of the way (well, into the way really, but out of the way of my access to all the junk piled up behind it)
I have sorted two piles of clothes into charity shop/ironing pile/put away classifications and steeled myself to say that if I can't wear it now, I can't keep it for when I'm slimmer!
I have cleared all the random little piles in the "Sitting" area of my lounge so all the seats are - or rather, were - clear so that I can now create more piles upon them while I sort this almighty mountain of sundry belongings into "keep because you have a definite place to keep them", "send to the tsunami victim appeal because they will be of use to someone who needs them", "close your eyes, remember you need to declutter, and put in a box ready for a car boot sale in the spring" and "now why on earth did I keep this rubbish in my house instead of binning it in the first place?"
And that was all before breakfast.
Now, fully fed, I shall tackle that pile of stuff. If you don't ever hear from me again, please send a St Bernard dog with chocolate to dig me out.
