Tiddles is getting really quite fed up of the battle to get him to do just the simplest things to help the household run smoothly. He said last night that we never seem to do any fun things any more, and it's true. I wish he could see that if he'd just do the things he is asked to do, which isn't very much, without putting it off then we'd actually have more time together. The same with his homework. Because he didn't bring his homework home to do on Thursday evening when it was set, we're going to end up spending Saturday afternoon doing it while Smudgelet's at a party and when I was planning to have some quality time with Tiddles. It's quite depressing really - I want to get to play with them too. :(
With this in the background I had some sad news at school today which put me in a mopey mood all morning, so heaven knows what effect it'll have on Tiddles. I was busy teaching one of my classes and in walked a parent and child who are planning to join the school as soon as a place becomes available. And who should it be, but Tiddles best (and probably only real) friend. So it looks as though once again a blossoming and positive friendship for Tiddles will come to a drastic end. The only thing for it, as I see it, will be for me to try to arrange to bring this lad back with me after school sometimes for a sleepover. Tiddles will be devastated. Of course, I could always move Tiddles to my school as well...... Nahhhhhh! Never in a million years would I dream of doing that!
Still, here's looking up. The weekend starts here :D And in a week's time it's the half term holidays :D And I have just bought myself an entire tub of Green and Black's Vanilla Chocolate Icecream to drown my sorrows and completely scupper my non-existant diet with :D Now I'll just pop and put a match to the Smudgelet's bedroom and let the methane in there do the rest :D
