Poor Dad

He needs the morphine to take away the pain (which has the bonus of making him feel more mobile and thus giving him more hope) but the morphine is making him sick. The more pain he's in, the more morphine he needs, the sicker he is. The anti-emetics are good but not good enough, as we discovered in the car while stuck in traffic today. The memories of mum come flooding back - the first hint that she was seriously ill was when she was violently sick in the car and I drove past in my car, looking back through the mirror and seeing them pulled into the side of the road and mum leaning out into the gutter. I'm sure Dad remembered that too - the more so as he's been referred for a brain scan to check for any further spread of the cancer. A scan was what revealed mum's secondary brain tumour - the one that killed her. The morphine improves his quality of life by making him more mobile, but is taking it away again by making him feel so sick. :(
