War of attrition

The Smudgelets seem to have decided that a war of attrition is best.
Every chore I ask them to do, they leave so badly done that it is harder work than if I'd done it myself in the first place.
I ask them to get the washing in........ they leave a trail of it across the lawn unnoticed until the following morning.
I ask them to put some clean, damp clothes in the tumble drier.... they drop half of them in the cat food bowl and leave them there.
I ask them to put their dirty washing in the kitchen on Friday afternoon...... they hide it in the bottom of their wardrobe with the clean clothes I'd just put there.
I ask them to put the kettle on for a cup of coffee...... they unplug the tumble drier and when I go to get them out to iron, they're still sopping wet.
I ask them to put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher....... they do so, but without removing the clean ones first.

Who will win, them or me?

I have a sinking feeling that I know the answer to that one. Please excuse me while I go and do my chores.
