Hot stones.
I hereby state my thorough approval of hot stone massage. Even if a couple of the stones were, well let us say they were very aptly named. And even if I did get a small fit of the giggles when a crystal was placed on the back of my neck to "balance the chakras" (not sure of spelling here and too idle to check) and I discovered that the balance I actually needed was the skill to balance a crystal on the back of my neck!
It was bliss, though. The therapist was really good and very friendly and although she apologised for it not being the sort of massage that you tend to fall asleep through, I was grateful for that as my greatest fear was of falling asleep and missing it all! I didn't even giggle when she massaged my tummy... and I commented that it was a bonus that I'd put on so much weight as she'd have to spend longer massaging the greater expanse!
I got full use of the facilities at the spa too. Sauna, pool, jacuzzi, and - my personal favourite - the detox room.
Shame I had to be home by 3.30 to cook the Smudgelets' tea and take one riding!
