That Christmas Feeling...

Two treats - one yesterday, one today.

Havenstreet Steam Railway. The Santa Special has got to be THE place to see Santa, and I found myself telling my sister (to much ridicule) how difficult it is not to believe in Father Christmas when you go to Havenstreet. A ride on the train through cold but sunlit forests. A roasting Christmas Dinner in the cafeteria there. A wander through the amazing grotto filled with toys and lights and mechanical wonders and, especially, trains. A glass of mulled wine while you wait to see Santa (Bother, I was driving! No wine for me!) and then an elf comes along and takes you in to meet the man himself. Pure magic.

Polar Express?

Merry Christmas

And have you been a good boy?

Merry Christmas

Then this morning a trip to church for the most chaotic but lovely Nativity play ever, with Tiddles and Smudgelet carrying the major roles, and doing it incredibly well if I say so as shouldn't. No pictures from there, I'm afraid, but there was a rather unexpected visitor who joined us at the end of the morning.......

Look who came to Sunday School!

Wonderful.

And may I share with you the most beautiful crib I have ever seen - this one that adorns the entrance way to the Hospice and for me is simply perfect , though maybe it is the location that makes it even more significant.
