Toothache? You think you have a monopoly on toothache? Well, Jack, you have company on the antibiotics.... not that I can remember to take them, of course. OK, so I know yours isn't toothache as such, but the symptoms were the same.
Here on the Island, NHS dentists are like golddust. I haven't been to the dentist for years as I am still sitting on the waiting list waiting to reach the top and be allocated to one of the new dentists they're slowly ferrying in from overseas (very overseas, not just from England!). And so it was I found myself sitting in a chair gazing up at a nice lady who spoke little English other than a sort of tutting sound (oops) and feeling about eleven years old.
Feels better now, though, after she shoved what looks like chewing gum into the gap where my broken tooth should have been - let's just hope this temporary filling lasts until a dentist can be found.
