So far we would appear to have two pavlets, although I can't see far inside the nest and only got a glimpse of these two when mum came out for a mid-morning snack. We now have three cages of pavlov/as though - a nursing mum with babes and aunt for company in the small cage, two sisters (hopefully not pregnant) in the large cage, and one poor lonely and puzzled pavlov (having been turned upside down and examined in a not-very-dignified way) in the medium sized cage. And today I have to make a trip to the RSPCA to find out what I do once the babies are old enough to be separated from their mum at 4-5 weeks, if they survive that long - cos I might be needing a fourth cage if one proves to be male!

It's very exciting. I'm not getting much housework done!

These must be about two days old, I think, cos I heard them squeaking before last night, but they haven't got whiskers yet and those appear on the third day. By day four or five they'll start growing fluff. And in a fortnight I can clean the cage out (oh, thank goodness!) and start to get the babies used to being handled!!!

Just when I thought life was getting a bit uneventful and boring... ;)
