The place where I type these posts is playing up. It's gone really weird. I've managed to post (goodness, hadn't you realised?) but it's not right at all. It might be the wibsite but, the way things are going, it's more likely my computer as it's doing all sorts of other strange things too. Trust me to forget that the technician was coming to have a look at it last week. I'll have to ring them back and arrange another date for them to come.... and they can take my laptop with them when they go and put that right too.
The local big electrical-thingy store has agreed to take my camera back and replace it as that's still under guarantee. All I have to do now is find the box. The box? Find the box? Who are they kidding? Have they seen the state of my home?
The washing machine has gone to the big laundrette in the sky. It broke. My brother and I tried to mend it and succeeded in breaking it some more. Fortunately I had dad's old one in the back of the garage so we did a bit of shifting around and swapped them over before taking the first one to the tip. As a gift in a time of crisis (what, another one?) the washing machine has indeed done me proud.
The Smudgelet's computer broke too. Graphics card problems. Now he has another problem. A friend at church offered to mend it for him and promptly did so. Now the Smudgelet has learned the danger of asking people to help when said people actually want a favour from you that you're not so keen on doing. I am leaving it to him now to work out how to say no. After all, he really doesn't want to dress up in a turban and loincloth and play the part of a snake charmer at the church open day, but he's going to find it really hard to wangle his way out of it now. And this, dear Smudgelet, is the meaning of the word "indebted"... and the reason why I try to teach you patience, seeing as you only had to wait until Thursday for the police to bring the other computer home for you.
I'm not sure what it is with me and technology. But I have come to the conclusion that it hates me.
