Now here's a dilemma. Honorary Auntie M is coming round for coffee after coffee morning (yes, I know, but making and serving the coffee at coffee morning isn't quite the same as having your friend make it for you... after all, there are seats to sit on at coffee morning!) and I can't remember what time it ends. I'm dying for a cuppa, though, so I could probably force a second one down, should she arrive just on the last mouthful.
I knew that making myself accountable to you would help me at least make a start. The bathroom and the loo are now at least superficially cleaner. It's amazing how the building work has encroached on every room of the house. Pipes taken through from loo and bathroom, and a window blocked in in the former, have both taken their toll, to say nothing of having workmen trapsing in and out to make use of the facilities (including me and my brother!) Even the lounge, and all its accumulated debris, is now covered with plaster dust after having a sunpipe (sing the praise of sunpipes, wonderful wonderful things :o) ) installed in the ceiling yesterday. But I am reasonably content that the loo and bathroom now will not cause me shame and embarrassment if visitors glance inside.... unless, of course, the Smudgelet forgets to pick his underpants up off the floor!
Another seat is cleared in the lounge, the Smudgelet's room is sort of sorted sufficiently for me to sleep on his spare bed tomorrow night without need of a gasmask and protective clothing, a load of dishes and two loads of washing are well on the way to being dry and ready to put away, and there's now room to make four cups of coffee in my kitchen. My dustpan has sadly bit the dust, in more ways than one, which is a bit of a pain, but there's only one area still needs dustpanning, in the main part of the bungalow at least. I think I deserve a cup of coffee, don't you? (Where's the chocolate, though?)
