I was just sitting here musing while waiting for a set of photos to print (so I can send them to eldest son), and I found myself singing in my head the song that was played during the offertory on Sunday.
It's rare for the music during the offertory to make me cry, but Sunday's did, though not in a weepy sort of way. It was "I know who holds the future and He guides it with his hand. With God things don't just happen, everything by him is planned..." A bit of a soppy hymn, I've always thought, but the message is a really special one right now, especially as I really was no good to man or beast in my miserableness of last weekend.
It's only just occured to me that the organist probably had me in mind when she played it.
Thanks Phyl.
