Narrow escape

That bloomin' robot is still haunting me!!!

It looks like we may be going to McDonald's for lunch. Oh great! I have got rid of one Smudgelet for the day to a friend's house so I get to play Scalextric with the other :-) and go out to his choice of lunch venue :-(. Maybe I'll have a happy meal, who knows? Why don't they do "grouchy meals" for parents, I wonder? And I'll finally get to see the Christmas display at the garden centre next door - one time when the Smudgelet is happy to drag round a garden centre.

I proved myself to be a real mean mum the other day - the Smudgelets were being so careless with their new toys, ripping everything open and strewing bits all over the room, then accidentally treading on things. I gave them the option of tidying up or me tidying with a bin bag, and they decided to have a tantrum, so bin bag it was. All their Christmas toys -apart from the big ones in the lounge, consigned to a big black bag and put away in the veranda until I decide the boys have learnt a lesson and are ready to sort them out and put them away. What a cruel tyrant I am!

Then came this morning. I was just sinking into my bath (why does disaster always seem to be bath-linked?) and heard the bin men arrive at the front. No problem, until I remember that the Smudgelets put the rubbish out this morning -having an unexpectedly helpful spurt! I leap out of the bath, wrap myself in a huge towel and my coat and slippers, race to the veranda to discover...yes...the bag of toys has gone!!!!! Nothing for it but to pray a) that it's still in the street because the lorry that came round was just for the recycling bins and b) that none of the neighbours are looking!!!!!!!

Thought for the day: Thank you God!!!!!!! *blushes*
