Christingle

I am doing a trial service next Sunday. I sort of wish I was better prepared, but I'm somehow going to have to fit it in amongst all the other demands on my time today.

It helped when they phoned me and said, "I'm really sorry Smudgie," (How did they know my name?) "We know it's your trial service, but would you mind terribly making it a carol service as we haven't managed to arrange one this year."

It helped more when they phoned me and said, "I'm really really sorry Smudgie. We know it's your trial service and we've already asked you to make it a carol service, but we've had to cancel our Christingle service because of a clash with the village united service so would you mind terribly making it a Christingle service?"

Oh no, not at all. Only to willing to oblige. Hee hee.

And then yesterday was Christingle at our church. My minister came up and said "I notice you're doing Christingle at one of my other churches next Sunday - feel free just to take notes and do the same as me - I've even done the carol sheets so that they can be used for both services!" The only trouble is that Smudgelet will be there and will notice - though to be honest he wasn't really listening because he was too busy playing with the orange and the cocktail sticks so maybe I'll get away with it. :o) Only sad thing is, it's a morning service next Sunday so the effect won't be quite so good.
