Right, I'm turning the computer off now.

There, how's that for resolve? I have fought long and hard for this time off work to catch up on the housework and to catch up on simply being me instead of a mother, a daughter, a teacher.... and I don't intend to let myself be tempted to spend ALL of it sitting at the computer. Not all! But a quick bit of wiblogging wouldn't hurt, would it? And a round or two of everlasting sentences? And what about a bit of word association?

It's lovely to know that I am utterly indispensible at school. I was told as much. "How could you do such a thing to the poor children. They need you here. You must reconsider. Can't you save your stress for another time, the holidays maybe? You look better today than you have done all term, you must be getting better, can't you hang on until Easter?" Of course, all this was backed up with offers of a generous wage increase.. or was that "but you will come in for Parents' evening, of course?". Cynical? Me? Never!

Plans for today - luxuriate in a nice hot bubble bath with no children knocking at the door wanting me to solve disputes. Catch up on a bit of marking so I can hand the books over to the supply teacher with a clear conscience.... plan to do this while sitting in bed with coffee and chocolates and some nice music on! Pick up sick note. Visit the counsellor and talk about getting some financial help for becoming Dad's carer. Have a lunch at my favourite cafe in Yarmouth. And... er... go into school for parents' evening.

Eldest son has done a first in the "Losing things" saga - he's now lost a sleeve off his new coat. Yes, one sleeve. It has detachable sleeves, and of course he just HAD to remove one the first time he wore it. And, of course, he just HAD to lose it! Anyone want 3/4 of a coat second hand? One careless owner?

Recommendation - Cold Mountain is an amazing film. Go see it, but expect to come out feeling emotionally put through the mill. Not a weepy - a traumatic cinema experience. But brilliant.

(Have I ever mentioned I worked with Anthony Minghella's sister for a while? And live fairly near his parents' icecream factory? Not that I would dream of being a name-dropper, of course!)

Right, I'm turning the computer off now.... when I've just checked my emails.
