It was lovely to luxuriate in the bath this morning after the boys had gone. Nobody knocking at the door to discuss some issue of grave urgency such as the fact that a brother had left his mug on the table instead of putting it on the worktop. No arguments to settle long-distance. No pleas to help find missing things for school. Just peace, perfect peace - sufficient for me to wake just in time to discover my book about to disappear under the surface! And how lovely to be able to go straight from the bathroom to the bedroom to dress without wrapping up in a dressing gown first. In future, however, I must make a mental note to leave the bedroom curtains closed until AFTER the bath - either that or issue public health warnings to the neighbours. Good job I was still wrapped in a towel!
Amazing how guilt sucks you in, isn't it? I am supposed to be at parents' evening right now but rang in sick. I now feel guilty! Why I should feel guilty when I actually have a doctor's note signing me off, I'll never know. Maybe it's to do with the fact that I did go out this afternoon for lunch. And very nice it was too... if a little too filling. I mean, I didn't have room for pudding!
I invested in a few new CDs too. Gosh, my CD collection has now quadrupled! Goodness knows when I'll listen to them all. We have a long journey coming up at half term, though, so I'll be able to try out the CD player in the car. The wonders of modern technology, eh? Who'd have thought it?
You will notice I am doing really well with my resolutions.
