I was going to go out to lunch with my friend M today but cancelled because of getting the house sorted. I just had a phone call from her to say she's putting a cake in the oven which takes three hours to cook, so she's coming down to spend two of those hours with me helping me sort my kitchen and do the ironing so that we can then go to lunch together after all, before our cinema trip.
I told her she was the best thing since sliced bread. She retorted that, as sliced bread had been around a jolly long time, it didn't say much for the rest of my friends. Hmm..... it actually says a lot about my love of sliced bread!
