What is it that's so lovely about the smell of baby soap? I found myself pondering this thought this afternoon. The obvious answer occured to me - it's because it smells of babies. But does it? Does baby soap smell of babies, or do babies smell of baby soap? Hmmm... yes, clearly the latter, because I've been aware of babies smelling of something very different. But here's the crunch.. if babies smell of baby soap, what does baby soap smell of? Whatever it is, it's wonderful. My boys have discovered the effect - when they've just washed they often come running for a hug because they know I can't resist lifting them onto my lap and snuggling them, just to get a whiff of the lovely smell. Not exactly the Lynx effect...
We made it to the cinema this evening. It was... well, what can I say? An experience. Or, as M said, educational. The boys loved it. Of course.
The lounge and the kitchen now look amazingly unculltered and tidy. I wonder whether it'd be easiest just to get the sleeping bag and sleep on the sofa rather than go and rediscover the bedroom.
Took a look at the sunflowers at supper time. Hope I can sleep without nightmares tonight.
