Tomorrow may be interesting. My sister has just called round to impress upon me that she had no influence whatsoever on the choices of what the Smudgelets bought me for Mother's Day and therefore denies all responsibility. They bought what they chose, apparently, and she doesn't want me thinking that she'd have chosen these items. I am a little nervous and have been practising my "oh, thank you, it's just what I wanted" just in case.
I wonder whether the tooth fairy will remember to call at our house tonight. She'd certainly better have memorised where the sharp and painful-to-step-on toys are strewn across the bedroom floor between the door and the bed. Of course, as she flies in through the window, she'll be all right so there was no need to pick them up and put them away like we do for Santa. The fairy's plot of having two matching pots, one for him to put the tooth in and one for her to hide the money in so that she can simply nip into the room and swap them over has been foiled by my helpful relatives. Grandad and Auntie J gave him a little dental-floss box to put the tooth in, and he's delighted to have something which is his and hasn't already been used by Tiddles. Bah! The tooth fairy will have to be extremely efficient in getting that open - it's got an awkward opening catch. I feel reluctant to let her have his first baby tooth, mind. It seems too precious to part with.
Drank some alcohol with my sister tonight. We shared the last of the Christmas sherry. There was about a thimbleful between us! Still, probably enough for an almost-teetotaller like me. Hope I don't have a hangover in the morning!
