So I will go back to the start of Turkey for the photos. This was when I arrived in Antalya. It was my first night and apparently this lighthouse is the symbol of Antalya:

Then the next day I went for a walk around the harbour and this was me at the lookout:

I then caught the 8 hour bus to meet my friends in Bodrum. That night we ended up in an Australian bar (later moving onto karaoke), where we danced and sang for cheap drinks (and free shots). This was us before we moved onto our jug of "Pina Koala":

Since Bodrum was a rather sleepy tourist town in winter, we made the 6 hour journey to Pammukale. We walked down from the local village to the famous calcium deposits. On the way, for my friends, I did an impromptu singing concert at this ampitheatre:

We then made our way down to the calcium deposits. You are no longer allowed to swim in them but you are allowed a paddle which we did later on. This was me as we walk around the boardwalk:

This is a scenic shot over the deposits:

We stayed at Pammukale that night and then caught the bus to Konya. Konya is a rather conservative and religious town but the sights are just beautiful. We went to the Mevlana museum where we saw Mahommed's beard (or at least the casket that it lives in) and also the tomb of the person who started the Whirling Dervishes:

It was then a trip around the local markets:

As we walked past the local restaurant, the 'spruiker' came out and asked us where we were from (a very common question). When we mentioned Australia, he wouldn't leave us alone until we went in and had free tea. We had our free tea and then lunch came, which he also said was a present, then more tea. I couldn't help but think that it would never happen in Australia. It was very tasty and we felt very special. I just thought that I should post this photo as a bit of an advertisement for the Istanbul 2000 restaurant:

Tomorrow we are on our way to Cappadocia where we will be staying in a cave! How exciting.
