1) Take earplugs if you are going to experience New Years Eve in the Netherlands. I am absolutely convinced that the fireworks are 3 times louder than they are in Australia. It is certainly an experience though to stand in the cold and watch amazing fireworks go off on every street corner.
2) If your flight says 'gate closing' (I was late to the actual gate for a variety of reasons and yes, I was at the airport a few hours before), don't let the man at security convince you that you have enough time to line up with everybody else. YOU WILL MISS YOUR FLIGHT. It then turned into a sort of Amazing Race while I went around the airport to all the check in desks looking for the next flight (that was in my budget). Anyway, I am here in Poland.
PS. Does anybody know the Polish word for towel? I may just have to wait at the hostel until the English speaking lady comes back.
