After Cornwall, we caught the bus to Exeter where we spent the night. Here, we were lucky enough to catch up with Neil for dinner. We had a look around the beautiful cathedral and took a free walking tour (but the guide was given the wrong keys which meant we couldn't go in any of the places we were supposed to....). I think Exeter is a really nice [city].
Onwards... next, we went to Cardiff. Here we spent a couple of nights. It was raining most of the time so we tried to do 'indoor' activities. We went to the beautifully-decorated Cardiff Castle (there was no inside photography so look at the photos on the website, it truly is beautiful). This is the famous clock tower:
This is me standing outside the keep:
and this is my artistic photo through a window in the keep looking back to the spire on the castle:
We were also a bit nerdy and went to the Doctor Who Museum in Cardiff.
When the weather fined up a bit, we walked down to Cardiff Bay and took a look at the Wales Millenium Centre. It's an impressive piece of architecture:
I felt very patriotic walking passed the Millenium Stadium:
Next up on the list was [more of] Wales. We spent our time here with friends in Port Talbot. Our host was kind enough to drive us around Wales on his days off, showing us the spectacular countryside:
We had quite a few restful days here. This mostly involved me playing with the pet ferret:
On one of the 'Wales' nights, we went down to Swansea to meet with the local wibloggers there. We went to the pub for a nice meal and a few drinks. It was so lovely to meet everybody (and so many in one place!):
from left to right - it's me (taking up most of the photo - it was on timer!), Jacqui, Nessa, Ee, Lemly and the half face there is my boy (it was on timer!).
Thanks again to Nessa and Ee (and Jane) for driving us home!
We have just arrived today in Oxford. We head to London for a day trip tomorrow to meet up with an Australian friend of mine and then we will try and do cultural things like go to evensong and things like that while we are here.
