I discovered The Toy Society yesterday. What a beautiful and fantastic idea! It started off as an art project and has spread worldwide.
The basic idea is to make a toy, seal it up in a bag with a note saying "I'm free, take me home" and then leave it where it can be found. The only 'catch' for the receiver is that they are asked to post on the blog saying they have found the toy. I LOVE IT! I want to start today. Reading the 'found' stories got me so happy and a bit teary.
I bought this book to inspire me.
I do wonder though, would I pick up a bag with a toy in it? Am I too much of a cynic? I'd probably ask myself "What's wrong with it?" or "Is this a trick?". It's nice to know there are lovely people doing such gracious things.
