It was so nice to spend Chrismas with my family (and my extended family) particularly because I was overseas for the last 2 years. I did miss my boyfriend but my family made every effort to make it seem like he was there, they even set him a place at the table.
At lunch time I went and helped the Red Cross at the homeless shelter serving Christmas lunch. They generally serve 200 people so it was a busy time. It was sad to see so many people there but I guess it was good that they could have some little thing to enjoy at Christmas. I had one of the best jobs which was greeting people as they came in and handing out Christmas presents (which had been donated by staff at the Tax Office). The happiness on their face was a great reward.
It's now the 30th of December and I am back at work.
