The kids are back at school so I have alot of free time on my hands. I think I may have finished about 18 books in the 2 months that I have been here. Finished reading two books about people travelling in Africa ('The White Masai' and 'Somebody's Heart is Burning'), both of which were really good.
Picked up my visa this morning and everything is fine. According to the Ghanian government, every month has 30 days so because I was staying for an extra 32 days, I had to pay for 2 months anyway. Seems like a good incentive to stay for the extra few weeks like I wanted.
I have three infected blisters in a row on the top of my foot which are causing me a bit of grief. The tropical weather just isn't letting them heal properly. I'll have to take it easy over the next few days. Selling inkatecake (a bit like peanut brittle) all day on Wednesday in Kumasi probably didn't help. I was a very good salesperson though because I carried them on my head (look Mum, no hands!) and I spoke Twi so I sold almost three times what they had the day before. I was doing it to help a friend who has just set up a business here.
According the news here the aid has started to get through to the flood areas in Northern Ghana so that is good news.
