My Big Dilemma

So, I did an interview with a company called GHEI for an internship in Ghana. The next day they informed me that they would like to offer me the position. While I love Ghana I have so many things swimming around in my head about this year.

The internship I have been offered is called an 'education program coordinator'. The position helps to oversee the educational and administrative side of the community hall which tutors children, offers high school scholarships and also has a computer lab and library (I was amazed they had these facilities!). It would be a fantastic opportunity and a great experience BUT the position is supposed to start in mid-April and I am not actually due to get back to Australia until March. I have been travelling since November 2006 so I have not seen my family and friends in a long time and I am also not sure that I would be ready emotionally or financially to go back to Ghana so soon (for about 5-6 months). If I decide to move the start date back and leave in, say, mid-May, I would not get any cross-over period with current intern so I would be 'flying solo'.

In addition to this, I have told my sister that I would help her with her new baby boy while her husband has been posted in Afghanistan. Not to mention the fact that my boyfriend will probably be starting a post-graduate degree in the UK this year. Decisions, decisions.

One possibility might be to take up the position next year, as they run these internships every year. I suggested this to the interviewer and she said it might be a possibility if I could commit to it.
