It's a public holiday and I'm at work. I guess I shouldn't complain, I'm making up hours so that I can go to the coast midweek.
Not such good news: I had an email from my dear parents and my father had been taken to the emergency at the local hospital. He had been having an irregular heartbeat and then woke up cold and sweating so they took him to hospital. It seems that the medication he is on for his cholestrol could be having something to do with it. It's so difficult when you live on the other side of the world from your parents, not to be there for them and I guess they feel exactly the same way when I am going through problems. Apparently Dad has had a few tests and he has a GP appointment on Monday to see what is going on and how to fix it.
Good news: Looks like I got the scholarship for one of the nice old churches here. That makes two scholarships this year and that makes enough committment for me. I will have to drop one of my choirs so that I am not taking on more time-consuming things (and because rehearsals are on at the same time) but that doesn't bother me too much.
Dinner party went really well. The Chocolate Truffle Cake wasn't really a cake at all but more like mocha mousse (which was topped with ice-cream and warm chocolate sauce). Ended up having 2 extra guests which made it a group of 5. It was a nice evening and I didn't get to bed till 2.30am or so after keeping my boyfriend company who was staying up till 4.45am to go to a paid performance he had before coming home to bed.
