Arrived at the Gold Coast on Tuesday night where my sister and brother-in-law picked us up. It's the first time they have really met my boyfriend but everything was fine and they got along well.

We then drove to Brisbane and ate the most beautiful sorbet. This shop was right next to the restaurant Lourve (for those of you that watch My Restaurant Rules ) I'll see if I can remember the flavours we had (I took a photo which I may add later):

- Cola
- Black Sesame
- Kahlua
- Turkish Delight
- Tiramisu
- Grand Marnier
- Mango
- Gin and Tonic

Other highlights of the trip to Queensland included going the the Toowoomba Show. Quite an experience, we watched pig-racing, ate show foods (such as dagwood dogs), tested honey, perused the exhibitions and played with the baby animals.

There was also lots of shopping. My sister went halves with me in a skirt for my birthday. It's a beautiful Nepalese full length skirt with embroidery around the waist in orange and greens. I'll see if I can add a photo of that too.

My sister manages a cinema in Toowoomba so we went and watched some movies for free. We watched Hitch and Guess Who . Probably not movies I would pay to see but they were both good to fill in some time. Actually, I thought Hitch was quite funny.

We had very nice gelato at Surfer's Paradise on the way home which was a mixture of English custard, cherries and chocolate. Yum!

It was nice spending nearly a whole week with my sister.

Now have to prepare to join the choir from St Peters in Cremorne to sing in a concert on Saturday at Goulburn Cathedral. Maybe after that, I will start on thesis work again....
