When giving blood this morning I had one of those moments where I felt like I was helping the world in some small way.
I hadn't donated in a year and a half after a bit of a bad experience which involved the nurse not being able to find the vein, the flow stopping, almost fainting and a big bruise.
I braved the 5 degree weather today to donate blood at a mobile unit which is currently located a couple of buildings from where I work. I am proudly wearing one of those little red stickers that says "Be nice to me... I gave blood today" (and plus, I got free jelly beans, crackers and cheese and biscuits! Yay).
