Choir Rehearsal

I attended the Llewellyn Choir rehearsal last night as a soloist. It was a weird feeling because I sang with them as a chorister last year for the Bach B Minor Mass. I sat in the very back row but was still seen and was then introduced to the choir before the rehearsal started.

I went there mostly to see how things were going and what pace the conductor was going to take things. I was rather nervous but it was extremely helpful to have been there. I even sang a few of the solo bits in for the rest of the choir.

I then stayed around and sang some of the things that the choir are singing (mostly pieces by Palestrina and Tallis). I was told by the conductor that my voice stuck out (in a choir of 50 people) so I told him that I wasn't planning to sing in the other pieces anyway. I was assured later that my voice stuck out because I was singing properly.
