More Performing

No time to get stressed about my thesis, I have more performing things coming up.

Firstly, two of my friends have asked me sing in a concert they are doing. I agreed on the condition that I would only be filling in harmonies and not singing any solos (less stress that way). This was a good arrangment and we had a rehearsal last night. It's going to be a night of jazz and folk.

Secondly, I have been asked by a different friend to sing at a fundraising trivia/concert night. We will be doing the flower duet from Lakme (Delibes).

Thirdly, I am singing in a performance of a work by Hildegard of Bingen, an amazing and interesting women from the 12th century.

Lastly, I will be performing some of the alto solos in a performance of Handel's Messiah in December. I have been given the hardest one - Refiner's Fire, because apparently I am able to do it.

This is over the space of 5 months and on top of my Church singing commitments. It will be interesting going from folk/jazz to classical to medieval to one of my favourites - Handel.

I feel exhausted already. I wonder if I should tell my parents about all these engagements, they already think I am 'burning the candle at both ends'.

Countdown - 12 weeks to thesis
