The morning of his recital (Monday, 2 days ago), I ironed his shirt, got his lunch ready and just tried to be extra nice in general. I think he appreciated that.
I then gave myself a day off and watched TV, did nothing in particular and went shopping. I bought a few little recital presents such as a beautiful little journal that has a music calligraphy cover and I also found a box of chocolates that were made into musical instruments. I thought they were very appropriate.
Half an hour before it started I was asked to buy some flowers for his piano teacher so I had a frantic rush around for that but found some and still managed to be at the venue on time.
He played so brilliantly. I was so proud and very much in awe of what he can do. It's a great achievement and he now just has his thesis to put in before he gets his masters.
I hope this entry is coherent because I'm very hyper and have a headache (I was awake at 5.45am for some reason).
