On Saturday night was the debut performance of my Handel choir. We had an amazing orchestra, a fantastic choir of very experienced singers and a full house.

This was the night's program:

Semele Lucky Omens (chorus)
Endless Pleasure (Aria)
Endless Pleasure (chorus)
Hence, Hence (Aria)
Now, love that Everlasting Boy (chorus)
Where'er you Walk (Aria)
Oh Terror and Astonishment (chorus)

Hercules Crown with Festal Pomp the Day (chorus)
My Father (Aria)
Jealousy! (chorus)
Where Shall I Fly? (Aria)
Tyrants Now No More Shall Dread (chorus)

Interval

Solomon With Pious Heart (double choir)
Welcome as the Dawn of Day (duet)
May No Rash Intruder (SSATB chorus)
Draw the Tear (chorus)
Music Spread they Voice Around (SSATB chorus)
From the Censor Curling Rise (double choir)

Judas For Sion Lamentation Make (chorus)
Maccabaeus Come Ever Smiling Liberty (duet)
Lead on, Lead on (chorus)
Disdainful of Danger (ATB chorus)
So Shall the Lute and Harp Awake (aria)
See the Conquering Hero Comes (SSATB chorus)
Rejoice O Judah (Aria)
Hallelejah, Amen (chorus)

It was a good sign when, at the interval, people didn't stop clapping until all the members of the choir and the orchestra had left the building. At the end of the concert, we got a standing ovation that went on for ages! [Yipee] I'm very pleased with how things went and people are asking me when the next concert is!
