My Melbourne Weekend

The drama of the Dutch passport on Friday: I went there and the lovely lady on the desk told me that my documents are all fine but there was a bit of shadow on my neck in my passport photos which wasn't acceptable. She recommended a photo shop nearby so I drove there, had another set done and drove back to the embassy. She then told me that the actually photo was too large so she rang up the photo place and I drove back there to pick up the correct version. I was cheering as I finally left being told that everything was okay. About an hour later I get a phone call saying there is a problem with one of the documents and I need another piece of paper. That will take about another week to organise and fingers crossed everything will be fine after that!

Saturday morning I left for the the lovely town of Melbourne where I spent the day shopping. On Sunday I went to St Stephen's Church, Richmond which was a beautiful old church opposite my hotel. The congregation were very welcoming and I had a cup of tea after the service. At night, after some more shopping and meeting my boy, we went to the Dresden Dolls Concert. They are an absolutely amazing and very talented duo that played till about midnight.

Monday, I decided to give blood to pass the time before my flight but they jabbed me twice to no avail. The did, however, still let me have free food and drink as well as a voucher for the local gelato store. So I went along to Trampoline and had my 3 free flavours - sesame, caramel pear and mint choc. All very delicious. I then got the bus to the airport.

I am currently sitting at my desk in a pirate outfit, complete with parrot and scar, for International Speak Like a Pirate Day. The ABC radio people are coming here shortly so I had better practice - 'Ahoy mateys!'
