Friends

It's been quite a week for friends, of various types. On Saturday, we tagged along in the wake of the duck meeters, not making it onto the boat but sharing in the cafe lunch, the walk along the South Bank and the drinks on a pub terrace watching the London skyline change from night to day. We've both had friend correspondence in our email boxes, the upshot of which is that I will hopefully be getting a phonecall from my friend for her to update me on what it's really like being a mum (I'm not sure how much post-caesarian information would be too much, though), and that tomorrow night Spike and I are going to meet an old schoolfriend of his, who (whom? - Spike, my darling grammar fascist, where are you when I need you?) I have never met before. From the email headers I have seen, I think I'm going to be in for a weird and wonderful evening.

Over recent weeks, too, I've seen my brother carried through a bad time by friends in physical proximity and friends on-line, and I've been touched by support from the Ship/wiblog communities in what's been going on for us. So thank you all.
