I've been wanting to blog this for a while, and, inspired by the weather and listening to pause for thought on the radio, today seemed appropriate.
We are so lucky in this country to have such a green landscape bursting with life, and have clean water straight from the tap. The rain falling today fills rivers and reservoirs, sustains plants and animals, and without it our landscape would be completely different. Some days you can almost feel every living thing drinking it in! In Swansea we probably have more than our fair share of rainy days, and we're often inclined to moan, and wish our climate were warmer and less damp! But think of the life-giving water which we recieve with each downpour, and the next time it rains, be thankful and remember those who are not so lucky.
I don't know who this was written by, its used in advertising for Gore-tex products, but it just said something to me.
Rain wakes a landscape.
For that moment everything around you is alive.
Colour and smell compete for your attention
and all you can hear is the sky hitting the ground.
