Brand new, only worn once, violet silk dress is in washing machine on "delicates, no spin" wash. Sink (into which washing machine waste pipe drains due to washing machine waste pipe not actually being plumbed in to waste water drain thingy from sink*) is full of pale violet water.
I can see tears and wailing in my future, really I can.
*Really must read the "Bumper Book of DIY Every Girl Can Do" or whatever that book was called Dad bought me for Christmas last year. Still, with its help, I managed to replace the bathroom light fitting without making my hair stand on end or emitting a strong smell of burning, so yay me.
