Firstly, many thanks for your prayers and good wishes - be assured of mine. I had a positive list as I did my Night Adoration last night:
"And, another thing, God..."
"Oh, and I nearly forgot..."
"And while we're at it..."
"And just what are you playing at with...?"
Truly, London is The City that Never Sleeps - the roar of traffic on the road outside lessened but never stopped entirely, and the temptation to lean out the window and shriek "it's three in the morning! Don't you have homes to go to?" was quite strong.
Saturday I went to Kew's orchid festival with rosamummy and dad. My brother & his girlfriend met us for lunch first, then we went to Kew. It was good, but not what I expected. I don't know, but somehow when I saw on their website that there was 250,000 orchids on display, I expected more varieties, rather than just lots and lots of the same ones. I have photos, and I'll post a link as soon as I've done something with them...
I'd then planned to go to a talk on the Rosary that the Cambridge Dominicans were giving today (Sunday) but the logisitics of getting from Night Adoration to Cambridge were just too difficult, and I couldn't bear the thought of inflicting myself on complete strangers having not had the chance to go home, shower and change out of the clothes I'd been wearing. Perhaps next time.
