for all your prayers and good wishes - Granddad's funeral is on Friday.
And on another, altogether lighter note, nothing lasts any more. I've only had my electronic kitchen scales ten years, and last night they had a deep philosophical crisis and sat there saying "well, this might weigh eight ounces. Or how about 7lb 4oz? Or nothing? Is nothing good for you? Four ounces?" So I stamped my little foot and went into John Lewis at lunch time and purchased one of these. For £5, I can live with the fact that it is actually an extremely scary shade of bright orange.
Still, at least it will match the kitchen wallpaper...
