Venite, in her final post ever* has given me a “Gorgeous Award.” Strange lady. Also, I note it does not come with a minion, to which I say “harrumph.” And “Ptooey.” I am to list six things relating to myself that are generally unknown, and mention six blogs or bloggers I consider gorgeous. I've been blogging since November 2005. There are supposed to be things you lot don't know about me? OK... 1. I am, by training, a librarian. I’m not sure how I ended up here, doing a job that requires me to play with numbers all day. 2. I will go to almost any lengths to avoid taking the Tube in the evenings. For this reason, I can think of seven different routes from my desk to Liverpool Street station. 3. I love London. Not just the obvious stuff, but the quirks and oddities that have built up from 2,000 years of occupation. The fact that the traffic lights at Hyde Park have crossing lights for horses and pedestrians, rather than bicycles and pedestrians. That there is a lump of stone safely caged in Cannon Street because there is a legend that if something happens to it, London will perish. 4. I don’t own a single pair of trousers. Not out of any desire to abide by Levitical clothing rules (I’d have to give up bacon sandwiches and black pudding, and that ain’t happening), but out of vanity and laziness. I can never get them to fit around waist and hips simultaneously, I refuse to pay £40 to get a pair of £20 trousers altered, I can’t be bothered to learn how to do it myself, and I find that walking round all day feeling like your lower garments are about to collapse around your ankles is not conducive to peace of mind. 5. [stares blankly at screen, deep in thought] 6. I give up My fellow Gorgeous Bloggers are, in no particular order, Yangtze at What’s for Afters?, Golightlycat at A Continuing Journey (note to self, update blog title in sidebar), Auntie Doris at Auntie Knows Best, Birdie at The Ad-Lib School of Parenting, Smudgie at Think Bubbles, and Tractorgirl at Journey Through the Field of Life. However, if you don’t fancy doing it, or you’ve already done it, I won’t be offended. *Eeeeek!
