The recent announcement of the Apostolic Constitution providing for groups of Anglicans to come into the Church is good news indeed for those Anglicans who want to join the Catholic Church and keep aspects of their spirituality.
But you should join a church because you find there the Lord you seek, and not because you want to leave something else behind. If you believe and profess all that the Catholic Church believes and teaches to be true, then welcome, do mind the door, it sticks a bit in the damp, you might have to give it a hearty shove. But changing denominations for a negative reason is, in my experience, rarely a good idea, because you are guaranteed to find something that will drive you just as mad. The One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church is, after all, broad enough to contain both Pontifical High Mass and sitting round a camp fire singing Bind Us Together, Lord and everything in between.
And I will pass on to you the advice that I received when I converted: "For five years from this date, if anyone asks you about your previous church, smile gracefully and change the subject."
