a brief story

for those of you who are single, and those of you who have dabbled in the online dating scene... I hope you will enjoy this story. you married people? stop laughing.

So last night, one thing led to another, and I found myself chatting with an apparently upstanding citizen. He seemed nice, upstanding, and rather non-crazy. Educated, business owner, a few years more experience under his belt, etc. We were going back and forth...having a nice little chat... before signing off for the night, I asked what else he wanted to know about me?

Now, ladies & gentlemen... let me just tell you I have "met" a wide variety of men online. [Just last week a man who was 17 years my senior was seeking a "wild child" and went into great detail about what exactly he was looking for (of course, I never contacted him)]

Last night, he asked "Are you into wild life?"

I thought this question was a bit out of character, but... this being an online medium through which we met - well, it didn't surprise me. I could probably write a book... a very entertaining book...

Anyway, being my delightful self, not trying to judge, but to let him know where I stood... I wrote back and said I wasn't into recreational drugs/sex, didn't smoke (had asthma), wasn't into the party scene...etc. etc. So if that's the kind of wildlife he's referring to, I'm probably not the right girl.

Woke up this morning to a message from him: "I was referring to outdoors when I said wildlife"

after hooting and hollering for a good few minutes, I assured him I enjoy the outdoors...and said at least now he knows where I stand on some of those issues (...so embarrassing...)
