I'm so happy! My democratic Senitorial candidate won!!!!!! And my state has raised the minimum wage (which impacts many of the families with whom I work)! And, we voted on 'Proposition S' to increase taxes for special education students (which means my students will get more of what they need, and I might get a raise in the future!) It's now a Democratic Senate... whoo-hoo! We kicked some idiots out of office! The people have spoken (can't wait until the Governor race in two years!) I actually cheered this morning when I awoke and listened to the news. Yah-hooooo!

In other news... stayed late at work last night to finish up a few things... feeling much better. Was in a funk for the last two days b/c wasn't really prepared for the week, and was feeling one step behind... and because one of my teachers (with a strong Type A personality) was incredibly rude and unreasonable toward me on Monday (unnecessarily) and guess what? she apologized yesterday. Wow. (just remembering now that I had a dream about it last night... glad it was just a dream - we had a huge fight! perhaps i was just expressing my frustration... I'm not much of a quick debator, don't like to fight, but I can discuss your ear off on many subjects) :)

My father's health varies day by day... which may also contribute to my feeling of 'funk'. Apparently it's common for someone to become deeply depressed after major surgery (e.g., open heart surgery). It's hard on my mom... and it's hard to be away... and, honestly, it would be really hard to be there too. Kindof discouraging. But I hope today is another day. Remember, I'm an optimist.

Thank you dear readers for listening to my thoughts this morning... my next thought is that if I don't get into the shower in the next 2 minutes, I'll be terribly late for the day! And rain doesn't like being late for the day - makes her crabby :)

Have a good one... you can do it, whatever it is you want to do!
