Today is about making a regular daily time for prayer. The advantages and disadvantages of different times of day for different people.
I can't do any length of time in the morning cos literally all I do is get dressed and I'm out of the door straight away, cos I usually have so much to do at school. By the end of the day I'm usually tired though, and it feels a little pointless just as I'm about to go to bed.
So the 'ideal' (if following suggestions in the book!) is while I'm on my motorbike on my way to school. This would be a great idea in many ways as I tend to look at the world around me and 'think' while on my bike. The down side is that either my depression or my drugs means that currently my attention span lasts about 60 seconds, which makes it rather difficult. But then I find that about being in church, or even trying to have a 'quiet time' at home at any point, or doing anything in life actually. It's really rather frustrating!!
Having said that, Rosamundi's suggestion (wherever it was I read it!) about doing a meditation type thing is also in the book which I did with The Lord's Prayer yesterday and it kind of worked because it did managed to keep me focussed.
Time. Making priorities right. Not being distracted.
