Yesterday Alien, Socks and I went to a hotel and played in the pool (and a little bit in the sauna and jacuzzi!). We then watched a bit of TV in our room at the hotel before going to Granny and Grandad's where Alien had tea, had her bath and went to bed.
Socks and I then got the bus into town. I felt very old seeing the young teenagers in their hotpants, with no tights, freezing their butts off. We went into BK and then walked up to a party while eating our BK meal.
We went to a really fab party which was nice and chilled and just generally lovely. We got a taxi back to our hotel, where we had another drink and chilled before having a peaceful sleep.
We both woke at about 8am. We've not both been in bed still at that time in a very long time.
After a full (and very large!) cooked breakfast we headed off into town and did some shopping. Having had a brief lunch in a cafe, bought two pairs of walking boots, two jumpers, some thermal leggins and various bits and pieces we went and picked Alien up from Granny and Grandads.
It is the first time that we've had an Alien free night 'out' together since before she was born. We've had 2 nights where she's slept away from home, but we've been either at home or just Socks has been at home. It was totally lovely to spend time together without worrying about her.
Now we know that she can stay at Granny and Grandad's without a problem (last time we tried it, it was a major problem - the three of them only had about 2 hours sleep!), it will hopefully happen again.
