I keep getting told all about how grey squirrels are vermin and are literally 'tree rats'. They eat everything, dig up gardens and can be quite vicious. There's evidently a nature group somewhere in the UK (I can't remember who or where) who are giving £1 for every grey squirrel tail handed in, because the greys are making the far nicer red squirrel more and more rare.
Today I went into the paddock and watched a cute bouncy squirrel hop across the field. Then I shot it.
I always used to hate guns (and still do in many contexts), but have come to enjoy rifle shooting. Socks bought one a few years ago, and I just went along with him when he was going to shoot targets to see what it was all about. I had one go and was hooked straight away so we went and got me one too (cos his was too big for me!).
I've only ever shot chalk targets and normal paper targets before today. Socks and our landlord frequently shoot rabbits and squirrels though.
Alien had 'cottage pie' today (well...carrot, potato and beef!). And for tea she had chocolate pudding!! It's so cool having a baby (or at least, having one as fab as her) cos every day is exciting and she does funky new things! I'm not sure how to put a link, but I'll have a go. Halloween pictures Alien in her ghost 'outfit', and then the pumpkin pie I made with Moo's recipe! It's soooooooo tasty! :D
